I'm on vacation for the week down in Mattapoisett. Fishing has been great all week for stripers and blues, though mostly blues. Even took a ride to the canal this afternoon and bass/blues were breaking on top for 4 hrs between west end and herring run. Didn't have the motivation to try any further east since they were busting bait all along the shore literally. Gonna try some shore fishing since the seas are a little toobig for the boat right now.

North Shore

So far so good up here on the North Shore. Was at Cranes beach early evening. AN acre of bass feeding about 300 yards off shore in the main channel the entire time I was there... The lee side of the islands have continued to hold fish as well.... Will know more in the AM...

It's pretty grim off Newport right now, really dirty water. It's too rough for almost anything except bottle plugs and metal but they always come in with debris on them anyways.

I'm taking a few days off...

Same story where I was in SoCo last night; made 30 casts, 28 were weedy; went home...
if tonight is still weedy, tommorow might be golden

The water is already cleaning out and the fishing is picking right back up around here. I'll be out there tonight. 2 to 4ft waves are forecasted, it could be a real nice evening.
