"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

My 1974 Land Rover I had in high school
Winter flounder fishing; I grew up fishing the kids tournies in the early 80s' wish they still were vaible
Cheap gas; that same land rover had a 12gal tank, used to fill up for 12 $$
My grandfather; the original Viking and a phenominal bottom fisherman
I miss the 86 celtics, Bird, Ainge, McHale, DJ and Chief
Drinking till 1a, sleeping till 6a and still being able to hit the gym with out a hangover.
Thats all I can think of now...

Ahhh, Old Cape Cod. I really miss that, sometimes I feel out of place and time there. Until I find myself alone on the Backbeaches, not a soul as far as the eye can see. Not even a footprint. Today, they can't build trophy homes fast enough. As a kid I remember abandoned houses available for the back taxes in Truro. We played in them "Haunted Houses"! My Grandfather was an engineer at the Cold Storage in N. Truro and would bring fish home for supper, Whiting( when was the last time you saw one of those?) or Haddock and clean it at home. (Across the street from his work). Yep it's changed.....
