Hockey Red Sox Pattern

An interesting tidbit that I heard on the radio this morning:
The last time that the Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled, was in 1919 due to a major Flu epidemic. Yes, it was the year after the Red Sox won the World Series.
Seeing a pattern here?

The Yankees are going to win another 27 World Series before the Sox win their next one?

There was a good discussion this morning, does Rameiro Mendoza get a WS ring? And just to piss off the Y faithfull, should someone go over to the Y dugout during the game to give him the ring?

Sadly, rumor has it that the ring ceremony will not be at a Sox -v- Yankees game as desired by Red Sox nation

Who decides who gets a ring? Does the team vote like they do for shares of the $$ ?

I'd bet Nomar and Mendoza both get rings.

Yes, I see a pattern,
The next time there will not be a Stanley Cup will be in 86 years if it is indeed a pattern.

I can't wait for Opening day and the Sox get to recieve their rings in front of the Yankees. It WILL happen.

Ya, Mendoza should get a ring, but they should call him over to get it, they should not have to bring it to him

I think Bill Lee should toss out the first pitch, he REALLY hates the Yankees. That would be classic.

Why should Nomar get a ring? Cabrera will get one though.

It's gonna have to be fitted for his thumb...the other four fingers are occupied with rings from the Yanks titles

I believe after they won the World Series the team said Nomar was getting one.

Nomar got a share of the $$ the team splits up for winning it all. He had nothing to do with the playoffs/world series, so I doubt he'll get a ring.
