where
Aside from going to M&D's. What is the cheapest place to find blanks on-line?
I know the fall run is starting. And I promised myself, I would only play around until winter, but I cannot wait any longer. I just gotta get started on my first rod.
I am going to M&Ds to pick up thread and supplies. I just want a cheap blank to play with, and a good blank to start on.

Why not get the blanks at M&D's too?
Too much shipping costs on blanks when u order online.

Good point - thanks Bob.
I was just trying to get some pricing ideas before I go.
I was checking mudhole, but no Batson's there.

Also MudHole doesn't have Lami
I am really trying for a Batson 1209 or a LAMI 1201
Any idea what these sticks run at M&Ds?

In all honesty I would just go to M&D's and pay whatever Mike charges. His prices are always reasonable and you're supporting a great shop to boot.

The shipping is gonna kill you if you order a 10' one piece blank online. Mike even has a problem shipping a made-up 9' rod (that's why the Batson SW series is so nice--the 9' blanks are actually 8'10" and the tip guide/butt cap still make the overall length under 108" ![Wink](http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/images/smilies/wink.gif) )
You aren't going to get a better deal on a 10' blank than you will at Mike's---especially when it might cost you more than he charges for a 1209 just to ship it.

i just got a Batson 1087 from Mike at Cape Cod Tackle (M&D). besides being the cheapest place for the blank, the service was great. there was a online issue that happened, and Mike took care of it right away. i couldn't be happier. i was glad to pay for the shipping to southern NJ. i checked some other online places, and a few places within 2-3 hours drive (so that i could go pick it up), but Mike's price beat them, even with shipping.
he's a great guy to do business with, and i love his funny MA accent. ![Big Grin](http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Stick to going to M+D's besides backing up whats already said, the information you get when you visit Mike is worth the ride.
I doubt you will beat his prices, you definately won't beat the service. ![BigThumbUp](http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/images/smilies/biggthumpup.gif)

IWAK/Tim - listen to every one here: buy it from M&D's.
His prices are great for components and his blanks prices aren't too shabby either. He knows what you need and what you should do - just his knowledge is worth the trip ! ![Smilie](http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/images/smilies/smile.gif) Its busy during the season on weekends so it best to go during the day IMHO.
I popped in there a few times during the winter & spring and got all kinds of other gear as well. He has a big stash of blanks in his store - u will see when you go down!
It takes me about 1.25 hrs to get down there - I would go more often but time doesn't always allow me. ![Frown](http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/images/smilies/frown.gif) My daughter is signed up for gymnastics on Saturday in the middle of the day now so that is gonna mess up my fall fishing plans.....LOL.
If you need a "boat" blank for fishing cod or tuna I'll give you one and some other parts to start making one. I had them out for sale but no one wants it....lol. I have other stuff laying around as well that I'll never use. ![Wink](http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripertalk/images/smilies/wink.gif) Shoot me a pm.
