I'll through them. I used to use sceweyes, but I'd hate to loose a 50 due to equipment failure.

that's what I'm talking about. I don't think I'll find a fish to break the welding rod I use or the 4H split rings. They're rated for 95+ pounds and the swivels are rated for 90 lbs. so That's much safer. But hey I guess they worked in the old days buy they had some losses because of it.

I think some companys still use them on the cheaper stuff though.

Buyer beware I guess. Thanks for the feed back. Show us a pick when you make one of your own. Thanks

Armand

Here's some of my new stuff...

The squid is weighted like a needle and the other lures are a new prototype I've been working on tentativly named the Lazy Fish.

After watching the infamous "Fluke Footage" from last years night out, I wanted to make a lure that acted like an oblivious bait fish. They sink very slowly, wobbling all the way, when you pick up the rod tip they wobble up. On a "needle Slow" retrieve they wiggle from side to side, and can be made to resemble a frightened bait fish when worked erratically like a slug-go. The only problem is they are really time consuming and made of expensive mahogany. I am experimnting with other woods now.

I hope they catch something, or else they will end up hanging off my mirror or something

Hmmm... That might be possible

Let me do some more testing with other woods... I am almost out of Mahogany.. and I'm scared to buy more.

Oh... you were talking to Salty heehhe

It's even more that that, I have to make the lure from two thin pieces with the weight sandwiched in the middle. I also have to rout a groove for the through wire because there is no way I could dril that plug I don't have the skills and then it's 25 minutes at the sander and 3 days of blowing the mahogany dust out of my sinuses. But it is fun...
