I keep mine on a mooring... I rarely get much water in the bilge, due to a self-bailing deck so rain water drains right out. I either have to figure out what part of my existing set up has failed, or just replace with an auto bilge with float switch built in , instead of separate float switch.

And then move on to so many other issues... like my cable steering not allowing me to fully turn left

I always ran a bilge pump with a built in float. Never had an issue in the 10 years I owned the boat.

No boat, back in the suds.

Mine is self bailing they said wink wink. But when it rains she fills right up . It’s no on perfect level ground ..

I've only had to replace mine (BIF) once in 12 years, but I trailer...I'd probably have both if I moored, with the float switch acting as backup...I only moored for about a year and never lost that uneasy feeling, especially in heavy down-pours

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots
