i built a similar colonial in CT, in a popular hartford suburb, probably worth 35% more than i paid. his house almost tripled. And my property taxes are triple what his are, and of course we have a state income tax. but TN offers no freedom.

i’ve visited him twice, and i wouldn’t want to live there, but it’s one of the fastest growing regions of the country. at one point 100 people a day were moving to the nashville suburbs.
it’s not because americans want to be imprisoned.
it’s not on the water, doesn’t have great mountains or skiing. but it offers a great quality of life at a fraction of the cost of living in new england. and the state leaves you pretty much alone..
very different from CT.

yeah I still like Florida...should be plenty of room there now that deathsantis has killed everyone...my oldest is going to grad school in southeast fla, taking her down in May, might not come back

It's my understanding that when China had decided to build slave labor camps to put the Uyghurs in, they modeled those camps based on the concentration camps in TN.
