So a huge expensive investigation was launched without any crime committed at all, and now there is an actual crime of money laundering and you say it was not illegal. OK got it

Seems like they had sufficient justification to launch the probe which has already produced a stunning number of indictments and guilty pleas. I believe all the Clinton money through the states was reported to the FEC, if it was illegal or not hasn't been determined.
