It sure is a shame Joe thought that was a swipe at him. My response was more to Cool Beans perspective, my flame days are in the past 👹

In other words, great catch ESPECIALLY with May tackle!!!

I do not fault the angler one bit for being under gunned. To my knowledge there were not really reports of large fish in that area. I kept hearing schoolies with a few 20 lb. fish mixed in. If I were fishing I would have brought my 8' light tackle rod. It's unfortunate, but I also appreciate the anglers honesty.

There is a scattering of medium 30-35# fish moving but not a lot. I was on the water for 5 hours this AM. 6 fish all 30 to 32" livelining pogies. If there were an abundance of larger fish around, I would have picked up at least one.

Better tides next week with a new moon. That'll bring the big girls cause there's lots of food around.

No boat, back in the suds.
