no doubt VS pliers are a high quality item,but do you need them to take a hook out of a fishs mouth,io don't my 8.99 anglers choice SS needle nose pliers have served me well for the last 15 years.to cut braid the few times i need to out in the feild i use a small snip that is meant for cutting braid.since i crush all my barbs cutting hooks is not an issue for me,i do have a pair of large sargents in my vehicle if the need does arrive.

For $39 or whatever I paid for them, I've been pleasantly surprised with the larger tsunami pliers. I did wrap electrical tape around the handles for a better grip, but other than that I have no complaints.

Dito on that one Bart, as for the tape try using the black cloth electrical "old school" tape.

Live bait sharp hooks and timing is all you need
