Need some help
A good family friend's husband just passed away from cancer. He had a 1979 Boston Whaler which he kept down at Tripps Marina in Westport. He was the sole owner and took very good care of the boat. He told his wife to sell the boat when he passes and I'm trying to help her find out what it might be worth.
1979 21' Boston Whaler Revenge
2004 Evenrude 225 with low hours
No trailer.
He also had a Mass com boat permit that he told her she should sell with the boat because they aren't given out anymore but it looks like it's just a regular annual license with Fluke, PTL, Scupp, shellfish, and striped bass endorsements. I'm not familiar with how the com licenses work anymore so I'm at a loss on this part. She also mentioned a comm scallop license that he held. She wasn't sure which one was the one you can't get anymore.
Any help on a ballpark price for the boat and feed back on the licenses would be appreciated. Sorry, the pics aren't great.

My condolences on his passing . if he has a fluke license it could be worth 15 to 20 grand. Same with black sea bass. Both closed to new permits
U need to check with the state to find out what he has and how u can go about either selling them or transferring them. I believe u can only trqnsfer fluke endorsement. It is very important to find out process, time span it will take to move them and most importantly find out from the state exactly what needs to be done to renew them so that they dont lapse/ expire cause if they do they r gone forever

I am pretty sure fluke can only be transfered to an immediate family member. Check the Ma DMF website.

Reading the rules on the site it says for other permits the transfer has to be presented in front of and approved by the commissioner but the fluke permit has different criteria saying only to immediate family but I think it is well worth investigating for sure. Mike could be right. A lot of times these rules are hard to interpret. Let's us know how they make out and sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss,
Been looking around the web for ya,,, I've seen that boat from the link below up to $19,000 in chatham
I believe an appraisal runs about 3 bills,,, probably not a bad idea

I spoke with Kerry Allard at DMF and she told me that you can transfer a fluke permit but without question, it's only to a direct blood family member. Mother sister son daughter brother, etc. In-law is not eligable.
