Wow -- are we seeing a slow beginning to this season due to the cold winter & spring, or are we experiencing the ever-worsening state of the fishery. It's been tough out there.

So here's an interesting question. How can you absolutely crush fish one morning and get nothing the next morning at the same place?
Chris and I had one of the best days in years Thursday. Friday, same place, same bait, marking lots and lots of huge fish and nothing. Live lining Pogies for 5 hours..... nothing. We fished 8 different spot.....nothing.
The only difference was rain on Thursday and clear and NW wind on Friday. I guess the pressure may have something to do with it but I cannot think it would be that dramatic a difference.
Every time I think I have this thing figured out, I find out I don't.

Just to throw a monkey wrench into the works, I had 3 awesome days this past week. Caught 20 or 25 fish all over 20# but nothing over 25#. Still, it was really great fishing. Then the front blew through and yesterday the bite died.
