hahaha, good luck. I can't even cut a straight line...lol. What do you mean by you don't have the throw on your JET? Does that mean the blank is too long for your lathe? Mine is a 36" if you want to come over and turn on it. It will give you an excuse to get your ass over here!  |

use a taper jig on the table saw
either a store bought one or a homemade like Norm used.
not that hard, just time consuming

I have done singles before. Secret was not cutting full height of the blank. Then there is getting the slot to the correct width, and re-sawing the inserts....which I suck at.
Bruce, I am making up a sled. That way I won't be pushing my aluminum taper jig into the saw blade..

I pulled a Jet band saw out of my brother's basement last weekend, so I can make the 12" Craftsman available to you at a very reasonable price.......
