Its construction lasted over 2,300 years (680 BC – 1681 AD). Different sections of the Great wall were being built, destroyed, and renovated by 9+ dynasties.

We could seal that border up in a few years at most, if not within 2 years. It's a piece of cake, it's not even hard. Of course we'd still need people and resources there, but to say it can't be done is laughable.
