If you are considering these or any other displacement Hull I suggest you become a member of the Downeastboatforum.
Tons of knowledgeable guys on there & it’s a great forum.
Just don’t ask about center consoles and don’t bring the political forum with you.

A downeast hull with outboards is the most ideal setup imo, if you want to charter.

i am very drawn to the smaller downeasts, outboard or diesel doesn’t much matter. no chartering, just recreational fishing ( light tackle casting, bottom fishing for sea bass and tog), something i can take out for lunch with the missus, a brick sh*thouse workboat that i can get bloody and power wash and will
last so my kids can have it when i’m gone. could care less about finish and bells and whistles. maybe something i can manage a few lobster pots with if i’m
in new england, a few crab pots if i’m further south.

it’s the dream! It might not be realistic, but it’s fun to start doing the research. there are some really nice hills out there. insanely expensive though.

I have looked there, tons of info. But I know some guys here like you, also have a lot of knowledge that could be really useful. Thanks.

I'm only buying one more boat, I want to get it right.
