If you can hang in there until after Franks solo the band is really tight ,,, hard stuff to play .. Keep in mind FZ was anti drug and no druggies were allowed in the band at a time that may have seemed square .. Nobody here is under the influence ..
Tagger, you woulda loved the early 70's at 201 Brown St. Zappa blaring 24-7. Coupla of the guys upstairs morphed into the Talking Heads. Wicked good , pissa time. Probably why I'm so tired all the time now. I can't hear Montana now without thinking dental floss and vice versa....really.
He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

Absolutely the dumbest song I have ever heard! Heard it one day with Slingah....he claims Frank never did drugs...............I beg to differ!
Absolute nonsense!
Slingah is a free thinker, an open minded individual.. Lyrics have nothing to do with the appeal of Zappa really .. Once you've heard a joke its not funny the second time . Most musicians get it .. Now get back to your Donny Osmond record ..
Down in Tagger's Garage
We didn't have no dope or LSD
But a coupla quartsa beer
Would fix it so the intonation
Would not offend yer ear
And the same old chords goin' over 'n' over
Became a symphony
We would play it again 'n' again 'n' again
'Cause it sounded good to me
ONE MORE TIME!

Thanks for the reminder of how nasty Steve Vai is. Dang that solo was sick. I've yet to go to a ZPZ show. I'm marking that on my to do list stat.
This is already my all time fave non fishing related thread on SB.
if ya like franks music go NOW RUN . I saw them the last 2 years as has the professor ( i believe ) . changes the palyers around just like frank . And Vai is just awesome . it was good to see murphy brock and terry bozio last year and ray white this year .
That was fantastic. Steve Vai what can you say. Awesome sums it up. Pretty much the same band we saw except the singer and Mr. Vai. Thanks
I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitarist. Great line
