Welcome Hulky. You could try reading any of the 1029 threads on the 42 pages in this forum. This is one of the best resources on the net if you want to learn how to make plugs.

You may get a better response if you ask a specific question as there are many aspects of building.

use the 'search this forum' button.

the how-to forum should answer all your basics.....just make sure you select show threads from the beginning at the bottom.

hi everyone . i'm new as well. if i'm interpreting hulky's question right, he (we) are wondering if there is a thread for a beginners "shopping list" if you will. for instance, i would hate to spend a bunch of cash on the wrong paints,or be using the wrong sealer, or whatever. i understand that there is some trial and error to be expected , of course, and some materials ,or techniques are "shop secrets", and i respect that . just trying to cut down my learning curve, and save some scratch.

anyway, there is some great stuff on this site, and either way i plan on reading on, and on, and on. thanks everyone

Everything you need to know from soup to nuts is right here on this site. Reading all the old posts is like goin to plug building college, only much more fun. Ask questions and jump right in. And don't be afraid to experiment, wood's cheap.
