A lot of physicians have tweeted about side effects of the powerful corticosteroid dexamethasone, but the best line is from a patient, a Stanford prof who had to take it after surgery:

"I couldn't be President of my cat when I was on Dexamethasone."

Here is what a doctor saw in this video of Tweety:

-Extra-respiratory muscles to breathe.
-Visible chest wall rise.
-Open mouth breathing at times.
-Rapid shallow breaths at roughly 25-30 breaths per minute. More than twice normal.

This is respiratory distress.

The next few days will be telling. He is in a honeymoon period right now, largely due to the meds. In the next few days, he will either respond to treatment and turn the corner or he will crash. Time will tell.

Remember he looks like this with top-notch care/medications that almost no one else would get.

Dexamethasone has been shown to be effective in severe COVID19. In severe COVID there is a hyperinflammatory state highly correlated with death. The dex shuts that down. In mild COVID, it increases mortality due to immune suppression. And then you have the mental side effects.

OK. A doctor saw that. Are you trying to imply something again?

2020, when it's impossible to discern whether the president is tweeting under the influence of a steroid-and-virus-induced haze, or whether he's back to normal

You're implying that it's impossible to discern? Then what's the point of trying?

Trumps messaging was regurgitation of statements by various experts. He didn't handle his duties per the Constitution irresponsibly. He took severe actions earlier than Biden would have since Biden criticized his travel bans from china, UK, and Europe. You conveniently leave out what was happening then, and insist that he didn't act soon enough. With no evidence other than politically motivated accusations by the Dems and the leftist Press.

and since you are like Barr in his defense of Trump you are now and to me forever know as DeBarr.

Then I take it as a complement.

Trump claiming 100,000 die yearly from the common flue is yet another lie meant to downplay the impact of Covid in comparison, yet the CDC estimates that 12,000 and 61,000 deaths annually since 2010 can be blamed on the flu. The higher number reflects the particularly harsh 2017-2018 flu season. Most years, the US death toll from the flu is closer to 34,000 to 43,000.
If he said that, he is wrong. Maybe he referred, or meant to refer to earlier pre-flu vaccine days when a lot more people died of it. 35 million Americans get the flu every year, a lot more than have got covid. How many of those 35 million would die if we hadn't already have developed medicines and ways to lessen its lethalness. I suspect when we get a better understanding and effect ways to combat covid, that it will be in the same category of deaths as the flue.

Luckily 70% of those polled don’t believe anything coming out of this administration when it comes to Covid, Trumps speaking to the 30% dumb bunnies (no offense) that can’t see through his BS.

Luckily, under this administration, we are finding ways to combat the virus quicker than it usually takes.

70% of dumb bunnies polled. Speaking of dumb bunnies. The dude in the stands of the baseball playoff game is hanging out with all the cardboard people. He’s wearing a mask so either he’s protecting the cardboard people from getting Covid or he’s ensuring he won’t catch Covid from cardboard people. This same network had three or four guys inside a studio the other day doing football with no masks. Maybe if there were cardboard people they would be more responsible and wear their masks

In the wake of receiving potent drugs for the treatment of coronavirus, the U.S. President tonight has publicly raised the prospect of criminally prosecuting the FBI, CIA, Hillary Clinton, and has announced the declassification of highly-classified national security material.

He declassified the Mueller report

I have fully authorized the total Declassification of any & all documents pertaining to the single greatest political CRIME in American History, the Russia Hoax. Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!

I think the likely reason the White House has refused the CDC offer to contact trace the Rose Garden event, is that they are concerned patient zero will turn out to be the president himself.

They just don't want the real scope of the problem to be known, they'd rather let the virus spread.

White House officials believe Tweety was infected at the event for Judge Barrett on Saturday Sept 26.

They will not say when Tweety last tested negative, raising questions as to whether he was tested at all between infection and the debate Tuesday Sept 29.

This is important...

NYT reporter Michael Shear believes he got infected Sept 26 either at the WH (required to go to get a COVID test because he was traveling with Tweety) or on Air Force One with Tweety the night of Saturday Sept 26.

Did Tweety test negative that day? WH won’t say.

The next day, Sunday Sept 27, Tweety briefed reporters in the Briefing Room and hosted Gold Star families in an event with no masks or social distancing required.

Did Tweety test negative before meeting these families?

WH won’t say.

A Coast Guard admiral who attended that Gold Star Family event tested positive the next day.

The White House did not initiate contact with the Gold Star families to let them know of the infection, the Washington Post reports.

And then of course Tweety flew to Ohio to debate Joe Biden on Tuesday September 29.

Gov DeWine says the WH did not contact him to alert him Tweety had tested positive or to coordinate contact tracing of Ohioans put at risk of infection.

And again: when did Tweety last test negative?

That’s information the Biden campaign, the CPD, Ohioans and others have a right to know.

Tweety flew to Minnesota Sept 30 — did he test negative that day? WH won’t say.

The White House refuses to answer as to when Tweety last tested negative. This isn’t just an issue of the public’s right to know, it’s also a public health issue given that Tweety is contagious. What possible justification is there for not sharing this info?

When asked when Tweety last tested negative, Commander Conley said “I don’t want to move backwards.”

That is not an acceptable answer. The White House needs to say, on the record, when Tweety last tested negative.

Frasier: Niles, I’ve just had the most marvelous idea for a website! People will post their opinions, cheeky bon mots, and insights, and others will reply in kind!
