I think Ronnie's question is still relevant here.... If you looking to net pogies, you want a gill net. Over 250 sf, you will need a permit. Go to NEMI and get a 40x6 if you want to stay under the permit.... Some will dive under the 6 footer, but a 25' long net is gonna drive you crazy. My 40' looks like a napkin when set.....

not looking for a gillnet for pogies - i've got one and a permit. i am looking for a seine net for for using in the back bays to see what the kids and i can net up - little baitfish etc...

Memphis net has them.
I don't believe there legal? The gill net permit is strickly surface gill net it, can't even be a sinking net.

knowing massachusetts it probably isn't legal. but for the 3 or 4 times a year i use it with the kids and nieces/nephews i'll risk it. so anyone got one?
