SHIFT-PRNT SCRN (look up by the function keys in the upper right)

Then PASTE into MS Paint or some other image editor.

"ctrl" and "print screen" at the same time to copy the screen
"alt" and "print screen" at the same time to copy the window (does not copy pointer and task bar)

then paste into any other program using "ctrl" and "v" at the same time or "paste" in the edit menu

if your just looking to print it, throw it in word and print it from there.

It gets dumped to your clipboard, you won't notice anything.

Print screen by its self will take the entire screen toolbar and all

alt + print screen takes just the window open

Your right, I always just assumed that I needed the shift because print scrn in above SysRq on the key.
