This isn't a heads-up, it's a question requesting a heads-up on decent concerts nearby soon - man, I'm jonesing for good live music -
Anybody know of anything?
"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
Last Thurs and Fri. were 2 good acts but that is history. Here is the rest of the month. Great place to see some quality blues, and a little jazz too, and good food and drink too. http://www.chanseggrollsandjazz.com/index.php?a=jazz
"A beach is a place where a man can feel he's the only soul in the world that's real"
The wife and I do these in the winter, but we are folkie blues types.
You get up close and personal, the tickets are very cheap, and most places have some great deserts http://bostoncoffeehouses.org/

Yup - from time to time I see Chan's on TV with some good music
Haven't been there live & in person yet - may be a good idea.
I got a friend who's a sax player - he might be interested

Geez, missed that post, T1 - Jorma Kaukonen was - or is - excellent, still listen to the Airplane and Hot Tuna on a semi-regular basis -
Does he still have the hairband tattoo on his forehead, I wonder?
Hell, he's probably got more tat left than hair by now...

David Bromberg tonight at the Narrows too bad it's sold out
WMVY is going to broadcast it live
I saw him a few times in the 70's-early 80's and his shows were great.
One place was in CT and I think it was called Shaboo's? Anybody remember this place. Senior moments
Very talented

I remember the Shaboo! At least what I remember.....
Seriously,it was a great club.Saw many great acts there.Regulars were Taj Mahal,Muddy Waters,James Cotton,Pousette Dart,Rick Derringer,Winter Brothers,Roomfull of Blues,NRBQ,to name a few.
Derringer loved it so much,he moved to Ct,not far from the club and still lives here.
The Shaboo was owned by David "Lefty"Foster. It burned down some years ago.Lefty went on to form the "Shaboo All Stars" You never knew who would play with the "All Stars" from gig to gig.Lefty eventually accepted an offer from the Mohegan Tribe and the band has become "The Mohegan Sun All Stars",the casino's house band. Some may think this is a "sellout".I don't care, they still kick ass!!
