First off, thank you all for the well wishes.
We saw the surgeon in MEEI Boston yesterday for check up nine days post op and he saw exactly what he wanted and expected to see in terms of healing. So that is great. The gas bubble remains in the eye for a number of weeks, so she is still basically blind in that eye. Very blurry. One finger or three look the same to her at this point. See him again in four weeks, but in a suburban office. No driving, can sleep on side now but not on back. Allowed to work at desk on computer without restrictions beginning Monday(besides not being able to see out of left eye...) He also did a thorough examination of her right eye as she had some floaters in it the day after surgery and that understandably freaked her out. Some of the fluid is pulling away from retina but he took a benchmark and will measure again in four weeks.
The week was rough on her, but she was a trooper. I will continue to happily be driving Miss Daisy and her daughter Dani for the next month. She is happily planning a food shopping outing on Saturday morning early and Palm Sunday mass at 0730 service for me to get them to for immediate outings. Thankful here for having world class medical facilities less than an hour away!

Thank you, Paul. We are good here. Blessed, fortunate, lucky, all the above. I drove her to do some grocery shopping and two other stops. She managed well still blind in the left eye. I see her occasionally waving a hand in front of the eye to test what she can see. She is trying to do anything the doctor said she could do. I got a good one...
I thought about you too the other day.... Wishing you were closer so I could hand over a milkcrate full of mahogany cutoffs for plugs.
