so it’s nationalist to want states to decide this, instead of 9 unelected lawyers in DC.

And Amy Barrett is racist, despite having adopted two children from Haiti.

You guys are just overflowing with common sense here.

you’ll never see more disinformation spread on any issue, than in this one. Nor will you avet see one side pretend that the key issue ( rights of the unborn baby) doesn’t even exist, they never, ever talk about it. They’re desperately trying to convince themselves that the anti abortion folks aren’t motivated by empathy for the unborn, we’re all motivated by hatred of women. the woman is the only one with a stake in this, no one else.

The people who claim government is too big, are totally fine with government intervening in your private lives & using the law to limit what choices you can make about your body.

Don’t forget, they hate the government unless the government is enforcing their religious extremism.

The people who fought against mask & vaccine mandates during a pandemic that killed a million Americans because they felt those public health measures violated their “freedom” have no problem forcing women to have babies. This is not about protecting life. This is about religion.

In the dissent, Justice Soto-Mayor said specifically, “How is this about anything other than religion?”

she also said this....soooo.....maybe she's not a biologist or something......

“Omicron is as deadly as Delta … we have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators.”

“We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition,” Sotomayor added, “and many on ventilators.”

Not only did Sotomayor’s statement contradict experts who say Omicron is less severe than Delta, but it defied data from the Department of Health and Human Services showing a total of 3,342 confirmed pediatric hospitalizations with COVID-19 across the US as of Friday — making the justice’s math off by a factor of nearly 30.

Justice Antonin Scalia, an avid pro-lifer, wrote in his Casey dissent (joined by Justices Rehnquist, White, and Thomas) that as to the moral significance of the fetus, “There is of course no way to determine that as a legal matter; it is in fact a value judgment.”

U.S. Supreme Court on Monday expanded the religious rights of government employees by ruling in favor of a Christian former public high school football coach in Washington state who sued after being suspended from his job for refusing to stop leading prayers with players on the field after games.

Yep omg the rights outraged if you protest in front of their SJC justices but cheer this ruling guess liberals just need to call it a praying not a protest

Claiming it’s a violation of his. free speech.. yep another religious ruling not a free speech ruling . He’s speech wasn’t stopped . He wasn’t stopped praying it was were he chose to speak and part and in the capacity of that speech that was at issue …

Yep the religious lawsuit flood gate blasted wide open the message has been sent You have a friend in me

One of the foundational religious establishment cases dates to 1971's Lemon v Kurtzman, which held that laws must have a "secular legislative purpose" and set up a three-part test to determine whether they survived constitutional muster.
The increasingly conservative court has largely abandoned this "Lemon test"

Wow this court is going to war with their predecessors ruling’s

you’re saying free speech can never be applied to a religious situation?

free speech isnt infinite. there’s a federal
law that prohibits protesting. front of judges homes,, and an obvious reason for it. Our system does t work if judges decide cases based on threats to their family. It’s not rocket science.

unless there’s evidence that the coach was compelling students to participate, then he can’t be punished for praying there. pretty simple.

who cares if he chooses to pray there, as long as no one is forced to participate.

The left is having a rough week with this court.

The coach is leading the prayer and he’s not compelling his players to participate.

Last time I checked, The Bill Of Rights doesn't exclude those who are in a position of authority.

He’s a public school employee
He’s leading a team prayer at midfield after a game
You ever have a coach give a postgame talk?
Sorry that boat don’t float

he’s not leading a team prayer. he prayed alone, and some
kids joined him.

Separation of church and state does t mean no religion in public view. It means the government can’t pick which religions are legitimate and which aren’t.

The government can’t interfere with your free exercise if your religion. Even if Pete hates it.

This was a complete no brainer.

They weren’t interfering . they said not on school grounds and not as of head coach of a public school. So no separation of church and state no longer exist

Another religious ruling masked as constitutional. So much for past rulings

Let have a 1000 people pray on Jim’s front lawn . And see if he still supports this ruling

Gorsuch said lower courts should no longer follow the “Lemon test” criticized by religious conservatives

No kidding

The Bill Of Rights opened that door. The Supreme Court merely reminded us (after liberals illegally closed that door).

Pete, it's very easy to grant rights to others when you love however it is they choose to exercise those rights. The test of whether or not the rights mean anything, is whether or not you recognize those rights, even when you don't like the manner in which they exercise them.

The issue is personal to most Americans. 2/3rds of people responding to the poll say they or someone they know has had an abortion. That was true of 3/4ths of independents, 7-in-10 Democrats & 55% of Republicans.

This is how EVERY cultural issue changes & impacts elections.

the number of americans having an abortion, has zero relevance when SCOTUS is deciding if it’s constitutional. Zilch.

How do you think judges are supposed to decide cases?

Kennedy has radically recast the events that led to his dismissal and that his actions during the 2015 football season were hardly private acts of faith. His Facebook post — “I think I just might have been fired for praying” — drew national attention and elicited support from prominent advocates, including former president Donald Trump and Fox News pundits.

Yep was never about his privacy it was his crusade not for law or the constitution but his lord

To clarify, the real problem in the school prayer case is not that the coach wanted to pray.

It wasn't even that he was doing it publicly and had people on the team join in (though that is problematic too.)

The real problem is he retaliated against players who didn't join him.

i won’t believe it just because Pete says it, no. they didn’t fire him because he punished kids who didn’t join. they fired him because they said he couldn’t pray.

Just have someone read the bill of rights to you. That will clear it up. It’s that simple. The state can’t take away what’s guaranteed in the Bill Of Rights.

Why is voluntary prayer so offensive to you, that it’s a fireable offense?

you’re the one who brought up diaries,, yet criticizing us for doing so. That’s not stupid, no sir.

also, aren’t you engaging in what about-ism
here?

so please stop criticizing others for doing it.
