This, folks, is why I have refused to even pull a permit since I returned to work after my knee replacement. This town is so mismanaged. The last building commissioner was great! Consider him a friend. After being hung out to dry by the town (they refused to represent him personally when town was being sued) he took a job with the state, as the State Building Commissioner!

I've dealt with so many half assed building inspectors in my time.......most of them couldnt build a house if their life depended on it.
Brother in law is a well respected civil engineer in business in Westport for over 25 years.
Designed a septic system based on his survey results and after approved work was begun with the excavation. Dopey town officials hired a 23 year old female to inspect....and she determined the water table used for the design was incorrect......work stoppage ensued holding up the job. He's been doing this job since before she was born......Steps were taken to put her in her place....she was proven incorrect. These idiots cant be allowed to wield power with out having any experience "in the field"
