US buys nearly all of Gilead's Covid-19 drug remdesivir

Now this administration is hedging it bets that some how this drug will help in nov ? Sounds like a campaign line. President Trump has struck an amazing deal to ensure Americans have access to the first authorised therapeutic

And its not a silver bullet

Tests suggest remdesivir cuts recovery times, (by like 4 days) though it is not yet clear if it improves survival rates.

Any help in treatment is good..

So what happens when another country (china) develops a covid vaccine and keeps it or buys up 3-6 months of production for themselves ..

Trump just gave away the high ground... no country is going to go out of its way to help the US.. seeing we cant even limit the virus spread in our own country by are own citizens.. to many are think theres a pill or will be a for it..

And this purchase just reinforces this idea

TRump still can't say all americans should wear a mask.. his base would call him a Rino
But by not saying it.. they see that as what leadership... to many fanboys

Do you always wear a mask when within 6’ of another person Wayne?
Will you be in close contact with a person who eschews the mask?

Ricky, I asked Wayne a question. Only a true liberal would interpret a question as whining. Are you ok?

My point was going to be; unless you are wearing a mask anytime you are within 6’ then you probably are part of the problem.

See, I know he fished w Gupp who is not exactly mask centric.
Hahaha
Did you know that drinking and driving is also illegal in MA?
See if your Dad can tell boh to do sobriety checks too!

i wear a mask when i am around strangers whom i dont know store restaurants to pick up food post office ect. i wont wear one around people I reasonably know wear a mask out in public and pratice safe distancing .. i am not indoors sitting on their laps and i am not in their face while on mine or theirs boats ..was invited to a housewarming party recently with 50 people expected to attend .. i did not attend outside or not

And if they eschew or wont and dont wear a mask ever .. no I wont be in close contact .
With out my mask being on..

Not sure what your point is regarding my post ?

And it seems you have where and when people should and should not wear masks as a binary choice..

I would suggest if most americans wore a mask just while out or when unable to socal distance 50% of the time, and not be at the bar or beach with no masks or distance we wouldn't see infections rates as high as they are.. whats the saying freedom isn't Free ...

Fear not our fearless leader still maintains this will magically disappear, we can rest easy and just hang on waiting for that magic moment. Presidential commentary at it’s finest.

Tweety finally wore a mask the other day & said he felt like the Lone Ranger. But the Lone Ranger's mask had two eye holes in it, while Tweety’s mask had only one #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& in it.

seems you have a attitude you dont care what the POTUS does or doesn't do or say but more concerned what I do or dont do or when I do it >>

I am sure I wear my mask in a more responsible manner 100% of the time when in stores or large groups ... definitely more responsible than Trump.. and with a constant message to others (know your friends).. so our difference being I dont care when or where you wear your mask or your thoughts on wearing one ..your not the POTUS

However please let's here your Mask routine because right now you havent said anything.. for or against for full disclosure of course

See, now doesn’t that make you feel better, just saying that?

Makes me feel better just hearing it...that’s the truth.

The United States has reported a record 58,146 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday as of 9 p.m., the most in a single day since the pandemic began, according to data from Johns Hopkins University
We are certainly ready to open schools in less than a couple months.

People are doing that here, it’s why we are doing as well as we are on the back side of the curve. Most of the country is not especially if they’re earlier in the wave.

That’s because we got hit early. They’ve learned a lot from that on how to treat and the average age of those sick has dropped significantly.

Funny the administration is also pushing that line.. well the death rate is Low..

Yet many hosptials ICUs are at or near capacity New infections rates are still climbing ..exposing more people to the disease.. and. Its effects but the death rate is low so we'll keep rolling the dice.

The right loves this kind of response.. no gun control. Reason school shooting rarely happen
Global warming . Answer it still snows??
Donald Trump
Look at my 401k
Police reforms ans blacks kill black more than police

His supporters want to cherry pick their support .

I had friends who couldn't believe i voted for Obama
Jokingly i said i voted for the white half .. even that wasn't enough. I was told i voted for him so i own him.

Now theses same friends and some here don't want to apply the same standard to themselves

Trump: "Well, I think we are in a good place."
Fauci: "We're facing a serious problem now."
On coronavirus testing
Trump: "We're almost up to 40 million in testing, which is unheard of."
Fauci: "This is the thing that is a little bit concerning: You say, well, we now have 37 million tests ... There are still lapses there where the dots are not being connected."
On the mortality rate
Trump: "If you look at the chart of deaths, deaths are way down."
Fauci: "It's a false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of death."

Let’s see one guy is a perpetual liar and really cares only about his 2020 chances, the other a long time well respected medical professional, who cares only for the safe and responsible slow of this crisis.

Who should I believe, me thinks I will go with the guy with a brain and degree.

One of two things, either Tweety or the American people are stupid.

The latest tweet
In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS. The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is important for the children & families. May cut off funding if not open!

New cases
Germany 10
Denmark 11
Norway 57
Sweden 298
USA 55,442
