There were 4 of us and we each got 1 fish. The 3 guys that took our stern spot took 20 keepers up to 20 lbs. The starboard and stern did really well.

Hey, Swede - The next time you go out, bring some chalk with ya.

That way you can mark the spot where you caught the fish.

Makes sense to me

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

This might sound like an ad but i have been on a lot of cod headboats and this one really impressed me. We anchored and moved maybe 10 times. The rest of the boat was getting a good pick and the captain moved because we googans at the port bow weren't catchin.

GB -

I'm not much of a cod fisherman - I think I'm probably gonna spend the cold weather months gettin' ready for bass - my warm-up is usually trout until the striped ones show.

On the other hand, fresh cod is pretty danged tough to beat...

They have a nice heated cabin on most head boats and we could spend the day there and hope that evryone else will catch enought and feel bad for us and send us home with some nice filets. What do ya think Crafty??? Nice boat ride!

Never done any codfishing, but the sound of fresh fillets is might appealing!

But I think the only thing anybody got outta the last SB trip was green around the gills due to some pretty rotten conditions.

Keep me posted!

The first thing you smell when they let you on the boat is homefries, sausage and bacon cooking.

A group of guys were fishing one day along a causeway in Florida where quite a bit of traffic passes by. In between catching fish, drinking beers, and bulls..t stories one of the guys turns as a funeral procession go by and takes his hat off out of respect for the deceased. One of the buddies said to the guy who took his hat off, "gee that was awful nice of you to do that," and the hatless fisherman replied, "not at all, she was a good wife."

It is better to have fished and lost than never to have fished at all. "me"

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): You have plenty to offer others. By not letting others know what you are doing you will make the greatest impact. New relationships will develop through your selfless actions. 3 stars
