I had a swan attack me from behind while lmb fishing in my small boat. I cranked up the trolling motor and grabbed an oar to hold off the swan, not paying attention to where the boat was headed I crashed the shore full steam ahead, flipped over the bow and landed in some pretty nasty mud. As for my screen name,i'm a water watcher.

Backbeach Jake

I've fished the Cape's backbeach ever since I was old enough to ride my bike across the Cape, 2.4 miles where I am. And Jake is the traditional nickname for my surname.

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

Revealing the secrets under the surf.

Because I enjoy bringing the fish-eye view to folks.

For those of you who aren't divers, I try to offer you a window into the underwater realm of game fish...with an angler's interest in mind.

Now I'm doing it in Hi-Def!

A day or so before I joined this site my son was helping me clean out the truck from a recent CC fishing trip. His job was to vacuum the sand out of the vehicle. While he was vacuuming, I heard him say, they should call you the "sandman".

The first time I signed up for a fishing board, my name "Ty"was taken, so this was the best I could do in 5 minutes of thinking. It's not a nickname or anything like that.

College nickname. Put a kid through a wall at a party, somebody yelled Bronko Nagurski.... the rest is history

RIRockhound.
I'm from RI.
I'm a geologist.
It was a nickname when I took a summer geology class in Virginia....

Also,
Steve Buschemi's character in "Armageddon" was a geologist and they called him "Rockhound"
