The guys over at ClassicSeaCraft define job and project scope by amount of beer cans expended during the particular job. Small to mid projects are < case. There will be keggage involved here Keep up the good work

thats too bad its junk. Diesels are pricey. can you get one out of a junkyard and put it in a boat?

i watched a running 420 hp tamd volvo go for 800 bucks on ebay last week right down the street in r.i. too
that would do me nice.. they put twins in these things so a 420 volvo weight wouldn't matter. i bet the flybrige i'm leaving off weighs as much as the difference..
thats the plan now watch ebay for cheap 350-400 hp. diesels. the fuel saving in one year alone will cover the cost.
they didn't winterize this thing right, water was left in the exaust manifolds and it creaped into the head. down the pistons and in into the oil pan oke:
deisel it is

If you look in the right places you can find one that is coming out of a boat about to be repowered, or has been overhauled. I know 2 years ago Mass Martime had a couple running diesels that went to there aution for short money. If you look around you will find stuff pretty cheap.

Not sure I would use PT wood if you plan to glass any part of it, the oils and what not will not allow a good bond, just what I have been told. Looks good though you definately have imagination and draw pretty good too.

yeah, i tried all kinds of different glue/resin on it. nothing will stick to it. i'll have to switch to something else..
looky what i found right down the street.
2,400 hrs, dirt cheap. just gotta figure out what horsepower it's rated for?

Mike - if you are going to encapsulate the whole piece with cloth & resin and the ply is securely attached to the frame and coated, it will be strong as using pine for a brace. I am assuming that you are going to completely cover all your wood with glass on both sides. The cloth will add strength to the understructure.
The sketches you provided are great. What drawing or CAD system are you using?

Thats what I was going to suggest. get it mocked up and build it outside. I love that carolina flare
? about the trailer. R U concerned with the tongue weight of the trailer with the stern so far off it?

Mike,
How are you going to fill that in....2 layers of 1/4" ply? Boulter has nice long sheets as you probably know. Theat will be a funny shape when layed on a flat board with lots of wastage from the sheet. I suppose you could strip it with plywood in directions too with less waste.
