Eight cords of log length firewood delivered this a.m.

Its funny how I said to the wife I don't think I'll go fishing in the morning, last night, because I have things to do today. Little did I know at the time it meant to start cutting this years firewood at least to stove length and then splitting in the next week or so as well. My guy always says I'll call the day before, but that never happens. My house ends up being between his garge and the job he is doing, so on the way home from the job, or to the storage yard, my house pops up on the radar delivery screen and he shows up. It's 11:19 a.m. and its slow going. Have a cord or so cut to length. Hopefully it'll be done in the next few days just working in the morning when its cool.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Two winters worth, maybe a smidgen less, depending on the weather.

I have one that works off of a hydraulic pump from the back of my relatively small tractor. Thanks Phil for the offer. I know I would never do it by hand, not anymore.

		 swimmer

got 12 cord log length delivered in beginning may when the truck could get to the wood after the mud bogs dried out

cut and split (by hand)all but 2 lengths...i see the light at the end of the tunnel FINALLY

after the first weekend of splitting with a wedge and a sledge.....I was so sore i couldn't wipe my own ass......that how immobilized my upper body was

I'll tell you what though..if you are young and can handle it.......makes you MUCH stronger

well there is a secret trick to it

you cut all the logs into their desired length
then stack them as they are until winter time
then you wait for several days below freezing
25 degrees is perfect and then you stand them all up
in a row about 3 feet apart

splitting them in this temperature is easy as pie
because the moisture in them is frozen
and they split like no tomorrow

oh... it helps to have a splitting stump
that has a back support on it as if it was a chair
that way you dont swing the maul as far
you don't bend over as much either
