Hunting Clothes Storage

Now that the season is over and all your hunting clothes are not being used.
How do you store them till next season.
I personally use one of those large Ziplock bags with a little bit of pine needles for scent.

A couple years ago a customer of ours was having a cedar roof done......I went through the dumpster and hand picked a small truck load of cedar shingles. I built a small closet in the basement and lined it with shingles(I got alot of time on my hands) I keep all my hunting jackets, heavy shirts and pants in the closet. I found that the first year that it was built the cedar scent was to strong and alarmed deer. I used to go to very high measures with cover scent. Scentless is a better. Once the season opens I then wash my cloths again and store them in rubbermaid containers.

I'm going to give this one a try for next season and see if it works.

Wash everything in baking soda, unscented detergent.

Machine dry, then air dry outside for a while.

Fold and store in one of those vacuum-pack containers you can get at Wal-Mart (you know, the bags that you can attach a vacuum cleaner nozzle to and suck out the air).

We'll see what happens...

Nothing I just pack them away then come Aug. I wash them in no scent soap. Also use two scent lock suits. Always did the pine and dirt scent thing but since I started with the scent lock suit I use no scent at all on my clothes only put it out around the stand. Must be working as my seasons have been good every year since the scent lock. Will say though that while bear hunting in Maine the outfitter put bug spray and coyote urine on the baits and gave everyone a bottle of each to use before going into the stand. Must say it works great but then I started to think is it good to be up a tree and smelling like dinner to the bear??? As soon as he gets to the bait each night all he can smell and taste is the bug spray and the urine. I did have had one walk under my tree and start to lick his chops I don't know if it was the bug spray or the urine running down my pant leg that he was so hungry for
