to answer your questions.....

I don't know JACK about computers....

....I got dislocated from my job...(fancy word for LAYED OFF)....about a year ago...I applied for some schooling thru unemployment, and bought a computer less than a year ago.....I like to experiment, thats how I learned the little that I know...

...Hopefully SOON!!!....I'll try my luck in the computer business. If that fails.....its back to the drawing board......hey! I just made a funny!!....the drawing board!!!....that would be KOOL too......but with so many artists (with degrees) out there....I'll be wearing my bloo collar again before I know it. But I'm not a negative person, so with any LUCK, this will work out.

.....so anyway, I'm not in the computer business. I'm in school for the stuff. I got my A+ and a couple of MCPs.....and still going!!...

....now for the other question...

I've thought about puttin a ''L'' bracket to mount an outboard on my rig. How do I know if the hull is right for that and if it's strong enough?

Thumbs up

...I don't know that much about boats...I've been around quite a few..but only bought my first one last season...and am still working the kinks out of it....

....BUT!!....I have many friends with boats and they've done what your looking to do. What they did was contact the manufacturer of the boat for the specs. on the possible weight limits of the outdrive and the actual best place to mount it.

...My friend had a marina mount his. 3 weeks later, it CRACKED!!!...thats when called up the manufacturer (Customer Service) and they told him how large he could go, and the best place to mount it. He ended up doing it himself, and hasn't had any problems since.

If you have any questions you'd like me to ask him.......start typing!!

The boat I have is a 1971 in pretty good shape. I don't even know where to start lookin for the spec's . Plus, it being an older boat I'ld want to make sure I'm doin the right thing. Or this could lead to my divorce

Being a 71, it "should" be a strong boat!!....Hullwise.

...and your right, also being a 71 will make it harder to get advice from the manufacturer.

...what would I do?.....

I start a post here, asking for suggestions, give details about hull, size, construction....and of course the specs. on the outdrive you wish to mount.....

.....I'd put it on this thread, as well as start another thread. I'd also put it on the other site......in as many places as possible, for example, the Main, the Mass., the Tavern, the Boating.....etc....

......people seem to be very helpful on these sites....

...sorry I couldn't help you more...
