From what I just googled up on it....not a problem but 2 things to remember, make sure you have a long enough bar to get through the ice you are cutting (with the recent weather, shouldn't be a problem), and clean all the Bar Oil out of the saw, it will leak into the hole you cut and can gum up your traps and/or reel.

You are 100% correct. Paul if anything look at a homemade spud. Or even store bought as they are cheap money. The chainsaw can get messy in many ways very quickly.
