Another important thing to remember is that it does a lot of other damage. Throat Cancer, hardens arteries and leads to many cardiovascular issues (High Blood Pressure & Heart Attack, Stroke, Emphysema) etc. I’m sure there is more but that is off the top of my head

Those odds were good enough to get me to quit. 17% is nearly 2 chances in 10. Not a way that I want to go...

Bingo. There are so many other complications that come with it. Not to mention people that smoke recover significantly slower from colds and the flu than non-smokers.
