years ago in 400+, we got red fish, they were the color red and fish, not very big, but I don't know what their name is, but not the 'redfish' you get down south.
no electric reel yet, i'm gonna get one over the winter for a spring tile trip though. i've got a little spot to the north that gives up redfish by the coolerful in surprisingly shallow water. it's a good thing they taste good because they all seem to die on the trip up
how do you catch them things?only caught one in my life jigging east of chatham at the figs.i just assumed it was lost.cant remeber if it was on jig or teaser.you jiggining for them?
I thought I read somewhere that deep water fish......300 feet or better.....die from the rapid change in pressure being hauled up???
i've caught cod/haddock from over 300' -400' that come up alive. don't know about survival rates after the trip. must depend on the critter. i've got a deflator but don't need to use it much
