I had my dad and boys out today for their first tuna trip. Fish busting all over the bank small to bigguns. I made a really stupid mistake, the 50 class reel got hit, line was pouring off it with drag maxed out, I thought I could help the drag out by thumbing it
ouch that burns, then I get a rag to do the same thing and seconds later SNAP! WHY WHY WHY didn't I chase the fish, duh duh duh!!
Luckily a few minutes later, we got another one, I have it about 5 feet from the boat and I say/yell, "Dad pass me the gaff", he hears "Dad, hit the gas", start end game part 2, but the hook is down deep, cut line, then back to the bay for some swimming.
