I agree - forget the politics.
I think they all need to stop talking to the press. They also need to start having bipartisan get togethers with families once a month. Its hard to continue to insult other politicians when your 4 year old is on a play date with your "enemies" kid. Bring some decorum back to congress.

Very well put. It would be nice to see what could be accomplished if everyone put their differences aside and worked toward what the American people want. Unfortunately, with all the giant egos in politics it will probably never happen.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

oh...that sounds nice...but... how do you "put your differences aside and work toward what the American people want" when your differences ARE what you believe is actually what the American people want and when your differences are what your beliefs are regarding what is the best for the future of America keeping in line with the principles of it's founding?....the debate is about "the differences"....according to the latest CNN poll...only 25% of the American people want this healthcare debacle....the fundamental point in this debate is exactly the differences between the parties currently and in what each of the two sides believe is the proper role of government....one side wants the government to take over and run healthcare one side wants free market solutions.... one side controls the White House and both houses of Congress ... the American people seem to be greatly favoring free market solutions over ObamaReidPelosicommiecare...

Therein lies the problem. Politicians are elected by the people to represent the people. Somewhere along the line, they decide that the petty backbiting and sniping is more important than doing what their constituents want them to do.
Of course this comes from the top in DC. We have a President who feels that he's so smart that he can decide what the people of America need and want. Apparently the polls that were so relevant back when people wanted "change" are useless now that people are saying they aren't in favor of the HC plan that's being thrust upon them.
For the record, I'm not opposed to HC reform. I'd just like be able to make my own decisions on what's best for my family and not be forced to pay for something I don't agree with.

Therein lies the problem too.....Health Care Reform and Health Care Plan are 2 different things.....that, somehow has gotten lost in the shuffle.

Amen...I haven't heard anyone argue that there aren't reforms that could be made...the Republicans listed quite a few...none of which are even being considered by the dems..
because as Kevin said
"Therein lies the problem too.....Health Care Reform and Health Care Plan are 2 different things.....that, somehow has gotten lost in the shuffle. "
this is not about reform of or improving the current healthcare system for the dems..this is about government take over of the entire healthcare system...most of them have dreamed about this for their entire socialist careers...the doubletalk and smirking and belittling yesterday from Obama and his minions was appalling...they should hold one of these conferences once a week until November so that Americans can watch these creeps in action, drag this out as long as possible...they were on camera and still could not contol their arrogance and petulence...great theatre! it was a HOME RUN
