Just saw this this morning, truly terrible, shocking news -I'm stunned

I didn't know Steve well but had the opportunity to hear him speak at an MSBA meeting - the depth of his knowledge and personal experience was impressive as was his generosity in sharing it during his speaking engagements, his OTW articles and here at S-B

A real loss to the fishing community - my deepest condolences to his family and friends

Rest easy, Steve

This is beyond sad....My thoughts and prayers are with his family...

I met Flap for the first time at plugfest a few years back,I was set up next to his table,my neck was killing me at the end of the day looking up at him as we talked.. I hardly knew him, but I'm going to miss him...

This is horrible news!!!!!! Steve was an inspiration and a teacher to more than just his friends and family. His articles that he wrote over the years taught me many things even though I didn't know him personally. He was certainly part of our extended family here and will be missed greatly.
Good buy Steve. RIP.

Very Sad news....His family is in My family's thoughts and prayers.

Being new to surfcasting I always loved when he posted stories of the "Glory Days" of surcasting.

So stunned to hear this. Thoughts and prayers for his family. I just talked to him this week and he was going to stop by the shop on Thursday nite to drop off a plug to me but it he never showed. So sorry to his closest friends. Rest in Peace.
