Always a great time no matter what happens on the fishing front. As a remedy to the slow fishing I suggest a Margarita or a Dogfish Ale 60 minute Ipa at Sharky's Cantina with a Chimi for a meal. Thanks again Steve, Rick, Paul, Warren and Chuck for the good times.

Although no weigh-in for me, I would definitely consider my first derby a success!! I fished in conditions I never thought I could or would for that matter. I thought I was only going to walk away from the trip with a swollen face from the 20-30 knot winds but I had to be dramatic and wait until the last hour before our derby vaca was over to catch my first and only fish. That was my first albie ever and I am still shaking from amazement on what a powerhouse those fish are. I got it done though...I was in shock or as Steve said my face was white with pure panic as my wheels turned in my head as I thought of what needed to happen to land this fish. My persistance to be the only girl on the shoreline hooked up definitely paid off!! The pure bliss on my face in the pics that Casey took about sum up my whole experience over there.
Just a couple details from my perspective on the trip...
I had a half a seat in the back of the jeep which I called my cave to live my life for 2 days and 2 nights to sleep, eat and even change my clothes. Casey and Steve just so you know its not funny to point out things on the left side of the jeep the whole trip...I can't see it!! Living in a house with a bunch of men was not that bad...Rick, your hospitality was much appreciated and Paul, your humor on the shoreline had me peeing in my waders as we cast for those crazy fish! Chuck I hope your found your way back to the house from Menemsha...but you definitely should have come for margaritas at Sharky's Cantina!! Steve please wash those gloves before I vomit in my cave!! And Casey can you please not kick around purple skunks in the parking lot...they spray like crazy!!
I definitely need to thank my husband for all his planning to get me over there for one of the best times ever!! And I can't wait til next year!!

What a blast it was fishing with you two. Not only are you both very talented hardcore fisherpeople, but you are also obviously best friends, and a great example of what marriage is supposed to be like.

The script played out perfectly. Casey, if not for the broken rod, ,ost line, etc., the catch would not have been nearly so sweet.

By the way, Kacie landed her fish, admired it briefly and released it like it was her 1,000th! If it was me(and it will be soon) you will probably hear me on the mainland.

Managed 3 hours of sleep this afternoon after a 17 hour fishing excursion, heading back out shortly. See you guys soon.

Rick
