JD, Republicans (and conservative Democrats) didn't want the "Public Option" because it had a ridiculous pricetag attached. They weren't just using it as an excuse to shoot down health care reform. I think most Republicans would say that health care needs to be reformed. The public option was just another way of hitting the taxpayers in the wallet and most politicians knew that would go over like a fart in church. |
