I drove the coastal roads from mid-CT through Newport to the canal this afternoon.
In the words of the great Bill Cosby "Can you put this back? Cause it isn't finished cooking! It needs to cook two, three months!" But the hospital made us take it home."
The water is too cold.
The evil black flying devils 100+ strong were anchored at the canal run, no diving or other action. I didn't bother to look at the run. I could smell the fish in the southwesterly breeze from the top of the embankment.
There was not a fisherman to be found the entire trip.
I was loaded and ready to shoot, but have learned my lesson, the 2nd week in May is the date to target.
Light a candle that the trawlers haven't killed all the bait.
