It might take some time, but I think things could soften a bit. As the economy continues to suck, companies are going to have to attract buyers. If their transportation costs go down, they may reduce prices to increase sales.
I went grocery shopping today.
$109 later and I don't have much.
I put stuff back cause I couldn't or wouldn't pay the prices they are asking.
On the flip side Lobster is cheaper than boneless chicken(and milk).
Bread, Milk, eggs are off the charts.
I found myself buying things I could make 2-3 meals from.
If everyone shopped the way I did today then they would HAVE to come down on prices or start throwing everything out.
Something's gotta give. It won't be me this time.

Are they going to also make the containers bigger again? I really miss that extra 2 (and the other 2 from the first reduction) "servings" in the edy's ice cream container
