Are those pics taken from the vicinity of the accident, or did the boat drift a ways? Just curious as the spot looks very familiar. The swells can come out of nowhere sometimes if its the place I think it is.

The area of the picture seems consistent with the location he describes. There is a camp in the area the boat is washed up and he described a camp in his description of the incident.
I fished that same area the same morning he was washed up. I must have been there before him because I definitely did not see his boat. The swells were huge that day.

Holy SH!tz....I fish off the rock right off the stern in the pic on the left Quite frequently!!! Man, that is a tough, tough spot to get washed up.
