And Pakistan harboring terrorists to benefit themselves while telling us stories.

US: "stop supplying the Taliban"
Pakistan: "Ok"
*supplies Taliban to get more fighters for kashmir*
US: "stop it"
Pakistan: "Ok"
*does it again*

The irony is that the Pakistani military is very secular but feeds the flames of Islamisim when it suits their interests...this started back in the 1980's to fight the Soviet Union and seems to have continued.

And we helped by pumping 5 billion into Afghanistan to fund Bin Laden and his ilk through the CIA.

Isn't hindsight wonderful

The leadership behind the Pakistani military and ISI dig fundamentalism.

That scares the hell out of me considering they have nukes.

I would have no problem voting for a Black Man but sadly the one I considered experienced enough didn't run for office. I'm probably not voting for Obama because in my book he is simply not qualified (yeh, Bush was not qualified either and never got my vote).

Obama in 8 years? WITH more experience, though still without military experience? Dunno.

John, you sound like a crazy person saying you're going to vote based on the candidate's qualifications. Don't you realize it's not about who's qualified or where they stand on important issues? This coming election is all about who speaks more eloquently and looks sharp as well as who isn't the same party as the current prez. I think asking voters to be informed and look at experience and qualifications is too much.

If you ask people why they like one guy over the other, the'll say "it's because I agree with his stance on importand issues". But, don't ask them for specifics. The average voter is so uninformed, they won't be able to tell you about McCain's stance on education or Obama's stance on illegal immigration. It's too bad that people don't take the time to be informed.

Considering how much dislike there is for President Bush, who represents the GOP platform it's perfectly reasonable for a voter to simply vote for change. Hence why McCain is in such a battle with the GOP to retool the party platform so it conforms more with pragmatic independent voters.

The ISI but not the military leadership as I understand it. I think there's very little chance of Pakastani nukes getting in the hands of terrorists. Musharrif has just sold the Administration on this notion to keep the money flowing and so we'll turn a blind eye to his limiting democracy.

Musharrif is known for breaking promises though.
He certainly doesn't like Karzai that much at all.

I think the tribal nature of that entire region makes it pretty hard for anyone to trust the intentions of outsiders. It's rooted very deeply in their culture, and something the Admin completely failed to comprehend when we went into Iraq.

Karzai hates the Taliban
Therefore Musharrif hates Karzai.
