Mountains of fish in the river but nothing to stress the little Shimano. The problem is not with the number being caught, it's the quality.

I did walk down to the river with my 14 yo daughter and her friend last noc and wet myself from laughing so hard. I set them up with fresh water tackle and little baits on barbless hooks and they were catching them 2 at a time. The trick is a slack high end tide and handfulls of minced mac.

It was like fishing for bluegills except the fish ranged from 16 to 25 inches. It sure was a blast listening to the girls squeal.

Caught a dozen schoolies in two hours of fishing in the fog this morning. Nothing more than 27".
