Thanks for all the nice comments. Nothing special about my technique really. I just cut some little curve templates out of a piece of photo paper and some acetate sheets that we used to use to make transparencies with, and used them to lay down some curved shapes over a black background. I started with some createx red as a base "flame" shape, then some orange and yellow here and there. I then sprayed on some transparent orange and then some white highlights. I sprayed transparent yellow over everything to turn the white yellow, then top coated with Devcon. A lot of the painting I just did free hand just to get the feel of this new brush The advantage of this small needle and gravity feed is that you can lay down light coats and pretty fine lines. I will try to get some photos of the templates tomorrow, but you will be surprised how simple they really are. Trust me, I am no artist. I had just seen some of the tru fire templates on the air brush supply web sites, made some cheap simple knock-offs and spent some time playing with them. Give it a try!
Thanks again.

Still holding up after a year of use. I did order some replacement needles and nozzles just in case. I just replaced a nozzle the other day because I broke the original one by over tightening it. Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone who wants a decent detail brush without having to spend a couple hundred bucks for an Iwata. Here are a few recent paint jobs.
