Steve best thing about fishing Hawaii is you only have to go out of the harbor a 1/4 mile and you are in an 1000 ft of water. No long runs. I have seen people fishing from shore but I think most boat it. I envy you I love that place. Enjoy. P.

I went six years ago in Kauai in Oct, sucked.
Tell me who you're looking at and I'll tell you who's good.
Lots of available charters there.

Can't reccomend a fishing charter but if you decide to do a helicopter tour of the island Safari Tours treated us very well. Well worth the money.

Thanks, any good inside info would be great. Last time I was in Maui we boated 28 tuna in about 4 hrs. Best part was, it was a shared charter and the other guys got so sick they bairly even fished. One guy was really old and he actually threw up his false teeth. My father and I still laugh out loud when we talk about it. He actually crawled off the boat when we got to the dock.
I'd like to go for striped marlin if I can... Again any info is appriciated.
I also just found out I'm headed to Cabo in April so anyone who knows some good charters there, let me know. |

I've done lots of shore fishing on both Kauai and the big island. My experience in Kauai is limited to the Poipu area. Let me know if you need info. I never charterd out of Kauai but have many tomes out of Honakahu.

What did you get shore fishing out of Poipu? Did you do it off the rocks. I've heard you can chunk for bonefish but they are deep there since Hawaii really doesn't have any flats... When you get a chance I'd love to talk with you before I go so I know what to bring. |
