I believe it's just a once a year tradition the track started once they realized how much support they were getting north of the border.
Political correctness has zero to do with it...it's all about business and making race fans who cross the border feel welcome.
Don't forget that Detroit, the "Motor City" was settled by the French

Oh, admit it---you're just pissed because O Canada is a much better tune than the Star Spangled Banner
I used to get shivers down my spine whenever Roger Doucette sang it in French at the Forum, before Canadiens/Bruins games. Maybe it's the pea-souper in me

Either way what a lame call to give it to Kahne with more than 4hrs of daylight left.

whenever i hear the canadian anthem i think of the old nhl.....b's vs montreal- back when checking and fighting were part of the game- and playoff hockey was the best!
