borrowed a classic shape for these ones

The original is one of my dads old 40's. When I started to really get into turning the first thing he asked me for was a tail weighted swimmer. He used to wrap solder around the tail of these to get them to do what he wanted.
These have 1" of lead in the tail and some under the chin. They sit almost vertically but once they get in current they do their thing...Boy will these fill a niche in the bag. I am planning to fish thee a lot so made 1 of all the colors I like. 5 1/2" and right at 2.5 oz.

Here's the original blue swirl and a couple of copies, and the 3 night colors that we always carry. Nice dent in the pearl one. Gotta drop one out of every batch, its like a rule.

				 | I don't get to fish daytime as much as I like, but I'm going to try and get out more days in the spring, so I tried to paint some of the baitfish patterns. |

				 | Raven, my dad fishes great point a lot and the rip there really shines when the wind gets honkin. You need 20mph+ to really get it to build, anything more than that is a bonus. The rip there will build to 4 or 5 ft easy on 20+ when the wind opposes the tide, and the extra weight helps on the cast and helps the plug hold/dig in the current, almost like trolling.
Tagger, big hooks is right on the money, 4/0's.

				Sweet

Those do look really sweet Dave! Always a good idea to have plugs for lots of current, shore or boat. Maybe I will try my hand at a couple of these tonight? |
