I'm on the fence if Rap should even be considered singing, but here’s my entry, a remake of an old favorite. Now what’s crazy about it is the song has the potential to set the stage for a new TV series about the weekly travails of a bunch of grizzled surfpunchers plying the New England coastal tides for “cows”. Starring Clint Eastwood as Surf “Howdy” Yates, Paul Brinegar as Windcheater, a real Rebel, Eric Fleming as their leader, canal sharpie Gibbs Darter, and Bill Tompkins as Toothless Bluefish.
Castin’ Castin’ Castin’
Keep castin’ castin’ castin’
Though they're procrastinatin'
Keep them long rods castin’, Lineside!
Try to think just like one
Hope the plug’s the right one
Soon you’ll be hauling in a large.
Boy my heart’s a pumpin’
Hope soon a striper fightin’, be waiting at the end of my rod.
Cast ‘em out, reel ‘em in
Change a spot, check the drag
Cast ‘em out, reel ‘em in Lineside!
Screamin' reel, set the hook
Set the hook, reel ‘em in
Work ‘em in, beach ‘em up Linesiiiide!

Ooh Jimbo,
Reminds me of the song I worte about my old roommate in college, we called him Whitey.
He was arguably the best guitar player I've ever seen or met. Great guy, he graduated with me from UMass (nuff said) and had a Masters from Harvard in counseling (just like Mikey minus the Harvard).
Man this guy could rock on the guitar...just ask the other bald Bomba...
But man, he hated fishing, fish, and my tackle...He drove his old man's Audi 4000 sports coupe, badly I might add, all around the greater Amherst area.
So here's the song:
Drivin, Drivin, Drivin...
I Was F.in flyin,
Heard this great big cry and oh no!
I was drivin poorly,
Now they wanna sue me,
Guess I can't drive any more
Tow 'em in
Fix 'em up
Drive 'em out
Crash 'em up
AUDI
Tow 'em in
Fix 'em up
Drive 'em out
Crash 'em up
Audi
I've had so much bad luck,
Then I hit a trash truck,
Now they want to see me in court.
I was drivin poorly,
Now they want to sue me,
Guess I shouldn't drive anymore.
Tow em in,
Fixem up.
Drivemout,
Crashemup,
Towemin,
AUUUUDDDI.......
AUDI

If ever there was a thing
more peaceful than striper fishing
it could be our worst day, in awful weather
and putting a line in the water can always make it better
big fish, small fish
no fish, drink like a fish
days and nights filled with anticipation
the joy of living in this incredible nation

Ode to a Newby (to 'Badge')
This is fun! wasted 10 min of my day but what the hell....
to "Badge" by Cream
Betcha thinking bout the time you drove in my sled
thinking that I might have drove you too far
Thinkin 'bout that bass I iced in the cooler....
I told you only fish in the dark
told you bout the goons and where they park
Then I told you bout the spot I landed a monster
I told you how the Tide goes up and down
Yes I told to fish when the light goes down
Better pick yourself up off the ground
Before the next wave crashes down
Yes, Better get some korkers on
Talkin bout a goon that looks quite like you
Didnt have the time to learn what he needed too..
His wife sold away his gear since he fell off the breachway
