				Running

Just curious... how many SB.Comers are regular runners as well? I have returned to running after a long layoff and remember just how addicting it was. Now I need to find time in my schedule to run everyday, or most days.
It was a health concern mostly, I had gained a lot of weight and had to address it. I'm down 50 pounds and 70 points in my cholestoral... hard to be a fat distance runner.
Back to road racing and sometime wonder, how many runner fish as well??? Like fishing, it takes a lot of time to become better and a real comittment to improve. I plan on running the Cape Cod Marathon in October.... so how 'bout it, anyone a runner too?

On and off for many years......I was up to 9 miles per day....personal best was 18 miles in 1:45:52...........need to get back into it again....addictive ISN'T the word......caffeine, heroine and nicotine combined doesn't equal half the addiction one feels from daily running, IMO......

5:52 pace! Very impressive! That is some fine running, great job. I enjoy being healthier now. Running has sure ruined my drinkin'...

it was my heyday...........now I run about an 8:05 - 8:15 for anything over 5 miles......keep it up.......Blessing of the Fleet 10 mile race in Narragansett is a GREAT run in the summer if you get the chance to do it. I did it a few times and really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the info on the run.... I'll look for some info online on it. It's funny, I'm 33 now and the biggest difference between running now as opposed to age 18 is my recovery time is much longer! I can't do what I used to! I have found I need to pick my workouts and my races much more selectively.
Times are nice, PR's are great, but it was all about health for me and I've reached that goal, now to maintain and run injury free!

I wish I could still run, but my knees are gone from skiing/mtn bike racing when I was young(er). I stick to the bike and crewing on a race boat now for exercise.

I used to run for my college but haven't really run since. It was really addictive but it is hard to find time with a job and a family et al. Definitely keeps you in great shape to make the death marches on the sand.
